The Potbelleez sign to Ministry of Sound

Band ink deal with Australia’s leading independent dance label,

Ministry of Sound

One of the country’s most successful electronic dance music acts, The Potbelleez, are back with a brand new single Saved In A Bottle from their forthcoming EP. The single is due for release on February 15 through Ministry of Sound Australia.

CEO of Ministry of Sound Australia, Tim McGee said of the signing;

“After years working alongside The Potbelleez, we are thrilled to be stepping up our relationship with the band and welcome them to the Ministry of Sound family. The guys have been working like crazy, and have really honed their writing and production – the new material is some of the most exciting I’ve heard in the past 12 months and it’s tremendous to hear music of this calibre coming from a local artist.

As one of Australia’s most successful electronic artists, The Potbelleez have enjoyed years of success and we look forward to further cementing The Potbelleez music both domestically and at an international level.”

Saved In A Bottle sees the band at their anthemic best, with the track sure to find itself firmly on playlists around the country and provide the band another hands down hit to add to their impressive discography which includes; Hello, From The Music, Are You With Me and of course, Don’t Hold Back.

The video for the single, shot by James Chappell (AD on ‘A Few Best Men’) sees a “Lord Of The Flies” meets “The Hunger Games” style narrative in which ten kids meet in a woodland clearing and go head to head in an epic game of “British Bulldog”. What ensues is a battle to win a heart in a blurred line of fantasy and reality.

Finding inspiration and studio time overseas in Paris, London and Norway has seen the band explore a bigger international sound for 2013, whilst still remaining true to their roots and delivering another signature Potbelleez anthem.

It is this signature sound and the ability to deliver an incredible live show that has made them one of the most in demand touring bands in Australia today.

Of their new sound, vocalist Ilan Kidron said “There’s a bigger adventure in there, there’s a deeper, more adventurous platform…musically and definitely lyrically” although he is also quick to point out that their mission remains the same “ to make really exciting and profound music for a generation to be able to sing”.

With combined sales to date of over 500,000 units, a new home at Australia’s premier independent dance label, Ministry of Sound and exciting new music to share with the world, it seems The Potbelleez are well on their way to completing their mission.
