Australian guitarist and lyrical wordsmith Hamish Anderson has been tapped to open for blues legend BB King on select tour dates, starting September 27th in Phoenix, Arizona at Comerica Theater. The tour will go until October 15th with other performances scheduled for later in October at the iconic Stubbs Venue in Austin, TX & more shows in NYC during the CMJ Music Conference.

“It’s beyond my wildest imagination that I would get the chance to meet BB King, much less open for him on tour in the US,” admits Anderson. “I am humbled and excited for this incredible experience.”

His newest EP Restless, due out in October, features the first single ‘Burn’, an adrenaline-charged blues explosion, infused with classic guitar riffs and dramatic drumbeats. Influenced by music from the Mississippi delta along- side classic rock of the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and others, Anderson has incorporated his extensive musical knowledge into a sound that is entirely his own. Acclaimed guitarist Gary Clark Jr. has taken notice of Anderson’s talent; when recently asked by Revolt TV which guitarists under 30 interested him, Clark, Jr. named Hamish Anderson first.

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Anderson has a style that reflects his electrifying live show that mixes blues, rock and folk with a modern twist. His self-titled EP came out to raves earlier this year in his homeland, packing local venue The Toff in Town upon its release. Anderson’s skills are showcased by a host of noteworthy tunes with songwriting and vocal maturity well beyond his twenty-three years.
