Blanche DuBois announce shows

To coincide with the release of the stunning new single THE SUM OF MY PARTS, Perth band BLANCHE DUBOIS will hit the road showcasing songs from their third studio album YOUNG HEART.

Following the release earlier this year of the bands third studio album (YOUNG HEART), Blanche DuBois is proud to announce upcoming national tour dates which will see the Perth sisters return to the stage and playing all capital cities for the first time in 4 years. To coincide with the tour, the band is releasing the second single from the album, THE SUM OF MY PARTS.

This is probably one of the most uplifting songs on the record,” says guitarist/singer Adriana Begovich. “But, ironically, I wrote it when I was down in the dumps over love! It was one of those songs that really took shape in the studio – and we had a lot of fun creating some special

piano loops and singing a whole bunch of ‘do-do-do’s’ throughout. It’s definitely got an upbeat vibe which is intended to mask the

fact that it’s a sad song about my shitty love life!”

Blanche Dubois is proud to be joined on stage around the country with independent artist’s Jack Carty, Whitaker, Southie, We The Ghosts and Echo and The Empress.

The divine JACK CARTY needs no introduction having wowed audiences around the country with his unique blend of folk rock and magical lyrics. Currently performing a string of live dates around the country, Jacks sophomore album BREAK YOUR OWN HEART is due for release this Friday April 27.

Honest and intensely human, WHITAKER present music fuelled by melodic drive and timeless sensibility. With the stunning unmistakable vocal of Ryan Meeking this Melbourne 5-piece is bound to impress. You can check out the band’s new single I WILL BREAK YOUR HEART at triplejunearthed.com.au/Whitaker and 'WAKING UP' at facebook.com/WhitakerBand.

With a killer live reputation, Adelaide locals SOUTHIE will be joining Blanche DuBois and showcasing songs from their recently released debut EP THE NOBODY OUT THERE. In Brisbane Blanche DuBois will share the stage with WE THE GHOSTS and ECHO AND THE EMPRESS. With an alternative twist on light hearted pop music, Echo and The Empress are bound to entrance. Brisbane locals, We The Ghosts will bring a distinctly alt country sound to what promises to be an sublime evening of music.

It’s been a heady year for Blanche Dubois: with the release of YOUNG HEART to spectacular reviews, national radio airplay, live shows in Melbourne and Perth and now the band have inked a licensing deal with US based company Music Alternatives. The deal see’s the band reconnect with their former USA representative who secured the licensing deal that saw songs from the band feature in the hit series Ugly Betty. The deal saw them become the first Australian Independent Artist have their music featured on the show. The new deal with Music Alternatives will see songs from the bands’ new album YOUNG HEART presented to all major TV Music Supervisors in both the US and Canada.

“The harmonies and structures that this song is built on have them heading somewhere more towards Bush or Bjork than the strum and reveal of the more typical Singer/Songwriter types. The mostly unadorned production lets those voices swell and offer their feelings." – DRUM MEDIA

“Capturing a breathy ache in the mould of former touring partner Sarah McLachlan, yet adding enough texture and depth to put a distinct stamp upon this lovelorn ballad, this DuBois is stellar.” - RIP IT UP

“Their new single is a catchy, dramatic little slice of acoustic pop, along the lines of Sarah Blasko.” – RAVE MAGAZINE

“Sounding and looking like a million bucks, Perth two-piece Blanche Dubois continue that city’s fine tradition of producing more bands per capita than any other city on earth (probably). Sisters Adriana and Nadija have been playing throughout the country for the better part of a decade, and with their new album YOUNG HEART due for release early next year, expect to hear more of their earthy county – tinged, delicate pop in the not too distant future” – TIME OFF MAGAZINE

"Young Heart is an exploration of love, loss and life and, as cliche as these themes are, personal experiences often make the best songs. Pleasantly, nothing is overproduced, resulting in an array of honest and unblemished, yet imperfect pop songs... In the end you'll be saying 'Not another break-up album' when in your head you're clinging to every single word..." - DRUM MEDIA PERTH

“There's plenty to like in the airy orchestral sighs of Perth's Blanche DuBois - sisters Nadija and Adriana Begovich. Their Young Heart is a deeply melodic and ever-so-haunting album. I suspect the bedroom is the frontline they're referring to in such heavy-hearted swoons as The War In Me, think Love Is A Battlefield updated for a twenty something audience." - VOGUE MAGAZINE

“Hopefully this theatrically named sister duo from Perth don’t suffer the same fate as the Pierces, the American sisters whose record company are scared of releasing here because they can’t decide whether the Pieces are too pop for cool radio or not pop enough for clod radio. You can see why it's a possibility with two indicative songs in the middle of Blanche Dubois’s third album. The vaguely spectral Run For Miles, shows that when Nadija and Adriana Begovich’s dramatic tendencies are mixed with some spacious, lightly electronic atmospheres they hit a dark patch that blends Kate Bush with Regina Spektor. On the other hand, The Wires, with its swaying balladry and easy tone may make you think of a cross between the McClymonts and Wendy Matthews.” – THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD METRO

“Real Life Madness and Time And Time Again have sweet melodies and emotional vibrancy” – THE SUNDAY HERALD SUN
