Generating over a hundred thousand streams online, up-and-coming singer/songwriter Madison Daniel unveils her new single “MENTAL” today. A self-proclaimed “Tinkerbell with teeth”, “MENTAL” is the title track of her highly anticipated debut EP which follows later in 2021.

Originally from Mornington Peninsula, Daniel has spent the last months busking in the Byron Bay area, honing her unique bohemian dark pop sound. “MENTAL” comes hot off the heels of Daniel’s latest musical release “Crash Into Me”. Co-written by and featured by Madison, “Crash Into Me” is a collaboration with DJ/producer Callie Reiff and has garnered praise from the likes of Diplo and The Chainsmokers as well as coveted placements on Spotify editorial playlists like Friday Cratediggers and Bass Lounge, and Apple Music’s New In Dance. Madison’s previous single “pity party” was celebrated at a New York Fashion Week show where she performed to a sold-out crowd.

About the song, Madison says: “I wrote ‘Mental’ when I was transitioning from a dark place and was really struggling with my mental health. This song is about embracing all aspects of yourself honestly and shamelessly... I've poured all of the darkest parts of myself into this song because I want to inspire others to befriend their shadows. When we transmute darkness to light, it can no longer control us.”

Living in a pure state of perpetual inspiration and creation, Madison seamlessly transitions between vulnerability and strength with her confessional lyrics and unapologetically flawed sense of self. Equal parts psychological thriller and Disney's Alice In Wonderland, Madison embraces her spirituality by exploring her shadow side, integrating it into her music in a unique way. A 'walking contradiction' - tough and tender, scared and brave, graceful and grit – “MENTAL” acts as the perfect “I am”-statement and preview into the world and mind of Madison Daniel.
