It hasn’t even been a year since Dear Sunday formed - but with a string of successful singles, selling out every headline show, and Pilerats identifying the boys as “an artist to watch in 2021”, it’s no wonder that their next single, “Lonely”, out now is further proof that the Perth 4-piece is poised to take over.

“Lonely” is classically Dear Sunday: the unmistakable voice of front-man, Ben Swanson, and the irresistible guitar tones, create a sound that is fresh & unique, but clearly draws inspiration from the Australian Surf-Rock royalty that proceeds them. Free up some space on your favourite playlists because “Lonely” is meant to be nestled beside your favourite anthems from Ocean Alley, Spacey Jane, Sticky Fingers etc.

Despite the “sing-a-long” vibe of “Lonely”, we shouldn’t hide from the special vulnerability to this track, fearless and unflinching, that pushes it beyond a summer festival hit - delicate and raw, the lyrics dig beneath the surface. Lead Singer, Ben Swanson said that the song was born from a chat with a close friend “We basically just sat there and spoke openly and honestly about our relationship with alcohol – about the things we regretted and how it can change the person you are. It was like my friend had an epiphany, somewhat before my eyes, realising that alcohol was a common denominator in basically all the things he regretted”.

With a feature with Luude in the works, and their debut EP on the way – Dear Sunday could very well be your new favourite band.
