Melbourne is notorious with producing world class indie acts and the arrival of Dan Vogl is no exception. Like a sculptor with chisel and hammer in hand, Dan has chipped away, piece by piece, inch by inch, to refine and evolve a distinctive style of storytelling. In 2019 Dan’s debut EP “Gifted In Gold” saw him receive airtime on Triple J, chart in the Top 10 on the AMRAP Regional Charts, clock over 30,000 online streams and views, as well as receiving press attention from Tone Deaf, Music Feeds, Beat and Forté.

Dan has shown versatility in his live performances, supporting the likes of indie rockers British India, touring with new wavers Pseudo Echo and even opening for dance DJ, Nina Las Vegas in Canada. Dan has performed at festivals like The Hills Are Alive and Eltham Street Festival and has headlined shows at iconic Melbourne venues like Northcote Social Club, The Gasometer, Cherry Bar and The Penny Black.

2021 brings a new direction for Dan with his latest single “Bland Francisco”. Evolving his sound to greater heights, Dan teamed up with producer Alex Markwell, who is credited with the likes of Mark Ronson, Portugal The Man and The Delta Riggs.

“Bland Francisco” transports the listener around the world, crossing continents and dropping pins into several countries and major cities. At a time when such physical free movement feels forever away, these destinations intended to reflect diverse emotions for the characters involved. Dan explains; “It accounts a clash of two lovers, who due to opposing careers and lifestyles, struggle to connect. They are at war with a long-distance relationship, conflicting time zones and effectively, each other.” For fans of Foals, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Circa Waves.
