Waxploitation Records is very proud to announce the worldwide premiere of Swipe It Off, the new single by Leo Justi, Brazzabelle and Zanillya.

Swipe It Off is a driving Brazilian/global mash up that is set to become an empowerment anthem. With a persistent rhythmic drive and an inspiring message, it’s the first time Leo Justi has worked with Zanillya or Brazzabelle, and the track has been picked as the soundtrack for a short film produced by UEFA to promote awareness of Together #weplaystrong.

The kick off of the first creative campaign designed to transform the image of women’s football and encourage more teenage girls to take up the sport, Together #weplaystrong is part of UEFA’s drive to make football the number one sport for women across Europe within 5 years. The film soundtracked by Swipe It Off will be played to over 200 million TV viewers during both the women’s and men’s FA cup finals this week.

One of the reasons Swipe It Off was picked for the film was its strong message about resiliency. According to Zanillya, a longtime champion of women’s causes, Swipe It Off means brushing off the things that want to hold you back, like dust off your shoulder.

Describing the track’s origin, Leo Justi says “I started the beat with some baile funk loops, slowly changing the pattern to a rather Bmore thing”. Brazzabelle (a top DJ who has worked with Elliphant among others), and Leo Justi swapped music hooks and vocals, and the song quickly took shape. “I like to use samples of real instruments to give tracks a unique sound,” Brazzabelle says. “The song is infused with distorted flutes and horns to give it some organic world music vibes that still sound dirty and cool. That gave the drop its Arabic feel.”

Leo Justi and Brazzabelle are currently finishing a collaborative EP together to be released by Waxploitation later this year.
