Much to the delight of fans across the world, 2018 saw the release of third album, ‘Yumeno Garden’. The first two singles ‘Dominos’ and ‘Eleven’ went straight to high rotation on Triple J, while the album tour sold out multiple venues in each city across Australia. In December 2018, Last Dinosaurs announced their first ever US tour, with the first round of shows in LA, Chicago and LA selling out in under a minute, the tour quickly expanded into 17 sold out shows around the States.

Massively energised by the reaction to ‘Yumeno Garden’ and keen to keep the ball rolling, the band returned to Australia for a huge performance at Splendour In The Grass and then jumped straight into the studio!

New single, ‘FMU’ is the lead track to come out of these sessions. It’s an upbeat track with a serious theme. Last Dinosaurs’ Sean Caskey explains – ‘FMU’ is about a hypothetical conversation between Hong Kong and China about their relationship. It was initially about a break-up but the recent news about the Hong Kong riots inspired me to write for the Hong Kong people. Their situation is seemingly helpless, and I feel for them. I admire their fighting spirit and this song is supposed to be in support of them. The cover art for Public Image LTD's first album ‘First Issue’ was what I stared at the whole time as I was recording the song too which I thought was symbolic of the conflict. An anarchic persona reimagined into a clean-cut modern icon. Hong Kong is protesting peacefully for the world to see but underneath is a desperate determination to preserve their sense of self”.

The new single is released on Friday October 4th, through Ditto.

With sold out shows in Mexico & SE Asia, festival plays around the world, UK/ Europe tour set for December and plans South America in the works, the future in looking bright for the Last Dinosaurs.
